Zero Oil Ragda (White Peas)

ZERO OIL RAGDA (WHITE PEAS)

Ingredients:
  • 250 gm white peas (soaked overnight)
  • Imli (small piece) (Tamarind)
  • Dates (4 to 5 seedless)
  • Red chilly powder 1 tbsp
  • Zeera (Cumin seeds) 1tbsp
  • Black salt (Kala namak) 1/2 tbsp
  • Chaat masala 1/2 tbsp
  • Tomatoes 2 big size (paste)
  • 1/2 cup curd
  • Ginger finely chopped
  • Green chilies finely chopped
Method:

Add the white peas (soaked overnight) in a Cooker with 3 glasses of water with 1/2 tbsp turmeric powder (Haldi). Let it cook for 35 minutes giving 3 to 4 whistles and then on slow flame. Once the peas are well cooked add tomato paste, ginger, green Chilies, Imli paste + Date paste, Curd, Black Salt, Coriander leaves.

(Tamarind / Date Paste)

Tamarind 25 gms
Dates 6 to 7 seedless
Red chilly powder 1 tbsp
Black salt 1/2 tbsp
Chast masala 1/2 tbsp

Grind all of the above and can freeze it and use for Pani puris, Ragda pattice, Sev puris etc.
